CERTIFICATIONS
BBB (Better Business Bureau) The BBB helps people find and recommend businesses, brands and charities they can trust. Members of the BBB are required to follow the BBB’s guidelines and require annual renewals.
SBA (Small Business Association) 8a Woman Owned program is designed to help woman owned, small, disadvantaged businesses compete in the federal marketplace? Certification requires the business be woman owned and must meet the stringent criteria and requirements in order to be certified. Certification last for 9 years and can only be granted once in a businesses’ life time.
NADCA ASCS: NADCA (National Air Duct Cleaning Association) requires that all member companies have at least one certified Air Systems Cleaning Specialist (ASCS) on staff to ensure that all cleaning is performed in accordance with NADCA’s stringent Standards and Guidelines. Certification requires annual testing and to maintain certification and membership the company is reviewed to ensure all standards and guidelines are being followed.
NADCA VSMR: Ventilation System Mold Remediators (VSMR) are professionals in the HVAC inspection, maintenance and restoration industry who are trained with an understanding of basic microbiological contamination, project assessment, and how to apply NADCA and other industry standards. Candidates for the VSMR must already hold the ASCS distinction.
Clean Edison: Clean Edison’s LEED Green Associate certification aligns with the professional standards set forth by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).Federal, state and municipal ordinances continue to set LEED as the standard for all new construction of public buildings. ::Certifications requires courses and testing to obtain.
OSHA: OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Association) is administered through the Department of Labor (DOL). The DOL regulates and enforces more than 180 federal laws. Businesses must follow the safety and health guidelines mandated by OSHA and to be certified classes and testing are required. OSHA re-certification requirement and time frame vary depending on the certification obtaining.
WOSB: Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB) is a company level diversity certification based on requirements defined by the Small Business Association (SBA). The purpose of the WOSB program is to ensure that woman owned small businesses have equal opportunity to federal contracting.
MBE/DBE: Minority group members are United States citizens who are Asian, Black, Hispanic and/or Native American. Ownership by minority individuals means the business is at least 51% owned by such individuals or, in the case of a publicly-owned business, at least 51% of the stock is owned by one or more such individuals i.e. the management and daily operations are controlled by those minority group members. Recertification is required annually.
MD-DC/MSDC: Maryland-District of Columbia Minority Supplier Development Council (MD-DC/MSDC) a third party authorized organization certification required to obtain an MBE certification.
CB-17: For the purpose of enhancing the County’s, Prince George’s County, economic development by creating bidding preferences and participation requirements for County based businesses on certain procurement contracts for goods and services with the County. Requires annual re-certification.
